Peneplane

Now leaving behind us the blue clays, we come upon the next oldest and very different system, the trias formations of red marls and sandstones, with much glacial drift on the surface of this part of the great Midland peneplane, and memories of the ancient Forest of Arden over a large area of beautiful Warwickshire.
