Pin-setter

The Backus pin-setter is almost human in its operation.

Pins knocked down by a pin or pins coming in contact with the pin-setter ( pin-boy ) shall count as pins down, except should the pin-setter ( pin-boy ) deliberately throw a pin or pins on the alley, then the pins knocked down by such action shall be respotted.

And there is a bowling alley with an automatic pin-setter.
