Planeside

As a frequent traveler, I often take two suitcases through security but drop them off planeside before boarding, to be stored with other checked bags while in flight.

In particular was the momentary departure for Vietnam of a brigade of the 82d Airborne Division from Fort Bragg—with LBJ shaking hands at planeside.

If, however, the runner is required to obtain the signature of the individual at planeside to whom the package was delivered, the possibility of theft immediately lessens; individuals are less likely to steal--or be careless with--a package if they know that their signature is the last one on a receipt.
