Preasymptotic

We prove that for compactly perturbed elliptic problems, where the corresponding bilinear form satisfies a Garding inequality, adaptive mesh-refinement is capable of overcoming the preasymptotic behavior and eventually leads to convergence with optimal algebraic rates.
