Pseudodeficiency

Exclusion of other rare demyelinating disorders (with coincidental ARSA pseudodeficiency carriage) is typically achieved by the demonstration of hyper-excretion of accumulating substrate (urine sulfatide assessment), pathognomonic histopathology on nervous tissue biopsy, or/and presence of causative ARSA mutations on molecular analysis.
