Ramenlike

Osaka substitutes Japanese icefish (the wholesale price of baby eels is mind-boggling), also known as noodlefish, and the thin pieces float, ramenlike, in a dashi broth fortified with garlic oil and chile de arbol.

One of the four savory main courses during our visit was a ramenlike dish made with potato noodles.
