Rangeability

When less scrupulous firms try to pull the wool over the eyes of a consumer, they usually resort to describing the transducer in terms of rangeability. The rangeability is meant to be an indication of some range of signal values over which the device is useful.

Rangeability basically assesses the ability of a given measurement device to be applied to a variety of applications.

How low the plant can be turned down depends upon the rangeability of the flow meters, control valves, and VSDs.
