A rastacap (§23.11) is a round knit cap often worn by Rastafarians with dreadlocks. I use it here as a mark of religious commitment comparable to the ṭaylasān, a garment draped over the head to indicate dedication to religious scholarship.

His body was emaciated, an effect he usually amplified with a rastacap mounted on his dreadlocks, which made his head look like a giant wasp's bottom. Not today, though. Today, Kero wore his dreadlocks au naturel.
