Self-opinionated

Mr. F. J. Catton recalls that Dugald Drummond, like Webb, was both a pioneer in multi-cylinder propulsion and also in the use of uncoupled driving wheels, with his "720" class 4-2-2-0 engines; both men, however, were self-opinionated autocrats, and their innovations might have been far more successful had they taken the advice of others.
