The term shota-con is a variant of the term loli-con for "Lolita complex" comics, a genre of porn comics for men featuring young girls. Shota is a common Japanese boy's name, thus shota-con indicates porn comics featuring young boys.

Lolicon or Lolicom is a contraction of "Lolita Complex," an unhealthy interest in underage girls exemplified by the Lolita Anime. Its rarer male variant is Shotacon.
