'Skip-care' or 'skin fasting' is being promoted as the latest skincare trend from Korea. But really, dermatologists have been preaching this simplistic approach to skincare for years.

The philosophy behind skip-care emphasizes on customizing your skincare routine according to how it feels and what it needs. This essentially cuts down unnecessary products, focusing on multi-functional products which serve numerous benefits in a single step.

“There’s been a shift away from the very old school multi-step routine,” says Hall. “Skip-care is basically a fancy way of saying that you skip some of the steps. They do that by using products that house a combination of ingredients.”
