The Princess [Victoria] was running about one wet morning on the terrace, when the gardener warned her to be careful, as the ground was "slape." She turned and asked: "What is slape?" At that moment her heels flew up and she sat down suddenly on the slippery ground. "That is slape, miss," replied the old servant.
