Spare no effort

This reflects credit not only on the railway staffs concerned but on the various signalling firms, which have spared no effort to carry out research work, and test and apply, when feasible, every new idea.

The railways are fully alive to the position, and are sparing neither effort nor expense to provide more attractive trains and to effect economies, but in such circumstances some curtailment of services is inevitable.
