Spongey

Narrow boardwalks got us through some of the spongiest parts of the Swamp. […] As we moved in and out of fog through ferns (hapuʻu and uluhe lau nui), flowering evergreen trees (ōhiʻa), tropical sandalwood (iliahi), spongey mosses, and rotting wood, I was reminded of the film Jurassic Park, which was shot in a botanical garden on the south side of Kauai.
