Subcarotid

These include a caudodorsally extended subcarotid recess (Fig 5C ), which communicates with the pharyngotympanic sinus at the proximal terminus of the pharyngotympanic tube, and a rostrolateral communication with the junction of the recessus epitubaricum of the pharyngotympanic sinus [34 ] and its derivative, the pterygoid diverticulum.
