Sukhpal

H.M. was in a litter (sukhpāl), and holding communion with his God. By the blessing of the shadow of the blessing of the Shāhinshāh no harm happened to his followers in that unprotected plain.

Next came a domeshaped sukhpal (palanquin), its silver plated pole being borne by eight sturdy troopers wearing red flowing kurtas, silk kamarbunds, and silk dungarees.
