Most industry watchers believe IBM will build on its relationship with Floating Point Systems, Inc. to develop some sort of supercomputer-like attached processor for IBM mainframes.

Google, for example, offers developers a cloud-based machine learning application as well as a large-scale computational engine that lets developers solve huge, computationally intensive problems by running programs on massive supercomputerlike networks of servers.
