And Seamen, will live and increaſe, as in other Ages of the World they uſed to do in times of War, altho Thouſands were kill’d: And of the moſt fighting War the Seamen ever ſaw in England this 100 Years, it can only be ſaid, the Sword or Guns kill’d Thouſands. China chose resistance. This resistance brought suffering that affected each individual. It gave even the young children national consciousness. It put the marching song of the soldiers upon their lips. The children cry the fulfillment of a prediction when they sing "Chi-lai, chi-lai . . ."—"Arise, arise . . . ten thousand with one heart."
