Theobromide

The separation of the alkaloids can be conveniently and very accurately effected gravimetrically or volumetrically by means of silver theobromide.

Theobromide, caffeine and theophylline are naturally occurring methylxanthines found in several plants, foods and beverages, and in several human and veterinary medications.

The more common beverages that contain xanthines include various forms of tea, hot or iced, which contain the active ingredient theophylline; cola drinks, which contain caffeine; and cocoa and hot chocolate, which contain theobromide.
