Thermalgravimetric

The occurrence of an amorphous ThO₂-P₂O₅ phase is suspected in the light of TGA (thermalgravimetric analysis) evidence, which showed little or no loss of P₂O₅ on heating to 900°C.

Its analytical tools range from compact, highly sophisticated units— spectroscopic and gas chromatographic equipment, thermalgravimetric balance, automatic microscopic electronic data accumulator and other hard-named devices to probe coal's nature—to the complete, separately housed coal preparation laboratory used in verifying the sulfur-reduction potential of raw coals.

Gasification behaviour of the optimally prepared briquette was examined using a custom-built thermalgravimetric analysis device.
