At this meeting of the World Nutrition Fraternity I would like to bring home one vital point of deep concern to U.N.I.C.E.F., namely the problem of nutrition for the pre-school child.

Next the obliging Norwegians sent up a couple of propaganda blimps for the United Nations – an award to the vigorously pro-Communist U.N.I.C.E.F.

The U.N.I.C.E.F. launched some emergency campaigns like mass feeding programmes, especially during droughts and floods. U.N.I.C.E.F. also launched large scale measures for the prevention of communicable diseases. / By the mid 1950s, India’s desire to be self-reliant, and initiate training programmes with U.N.I.C.E.F. assistance, made the U.N.I.C.E.F. to provide assistance for long term social and development needs.
