Probe was then hybridised to cells during a 48–72 hour incubation period at 37°C. For post-hybridisation washes, slides were rinsed in 0.4xSSC/0.3% Igepal (Sigma, UK) for 1.5 minutes at 71°C and 2xSSC/0.1% Igepal for 10 seconds at room temperature to remove unhybridised probe.
