Uniarticulate

Triprotella is very similar to the genus Monoliropus ; however, is discernible from Monoliropus by setal formula 1-1-1 of the distal article of the mandibular palp, uniarticulate pereopods 3–4, morphology of the gnathopod 2, and form of abdomen ( Sivaprakasam 1977 ; Laubitz 1991 ; Guerra-García 2002 ).
