Vishing

Vishing takes advantage of the trust that most people place in the telephone network.

Within just an hour, a new vishing infrastructure can be configured and put in place to launch a new attack.

Between 2006 and 2007, the number of vishing identity theft cases rose from 3 percent of theft to 40 percent (Source: Javelin Strategy & Research.)

But there has been less public outreach about similar new types of phone schemes, sometimes called vishing.
