Wikistorming

Wikistorming brings knowledge from campus libraries and translates it to the Web.

Working collaboratively and creatively in wikistorming sessions, many writers involved with technology, science and feminism have designed a "shared pedagogical activity" to help contribute to Wikipedia.

Dec 2016 Together Apart: FemTechNet and Feminist Online Collectives Using the concept of “boundary objects,” students participating in FemTechNet have engaged in shared learning projects like “wikistorming,” in which students edit Wikipedia to improve the representation of women and people of color on the site

Two notable assignments were a maker project, in which the students had to build something, and “Wikistorming” in which participants created and revised Wikipedia articles on and about women as well as interrogating the processes and gender bias of Wikipedia editing ("feminist wiki-storming," 2016).
