Xinhui

Hsinhui is one of the four famous counties in Kwangtung Province, where the great bulk of Overseas Chinese in North and South America originally came from.[…]Because of its picturesque landscape with one of the oldest banyan trees in existence, Hsinhui county has become one of the eight most scenic resorts in Kwangtung Province, which included the visits of Chou En-lai and Yeh Chien-ying.

A number of Jiangmen's townships have become highly concentrated production areas. For instance, in 2001, Siqian, in Jiangmen's southern city of Xinhui, produced 80 percent of its industrial value from metal kitchen products.

The smell of tangerines wafts across Jiangmen’s Xinhui district on a late autumn day, as it has done for centuries. But ambitious urbanisation plans for the city on the west bank of the Pearl River, part of the Chinese government’s “Greater Bay Area” drive, mean it may not do so for much longer.
