Yun-nan

Ta-li City, visible as the rectangular walled patch in the center of the lake plain, is the western rival of Kʻun-ming, capital of Yun-nan Province.

Orographic rain seems significant only when the monsoon current runs into the high plateaux of Yun-nan and Kuei-chou, and into the mountains of Ssu-ch'uan.
