Zythology

Beer and cheese, it turns out, are a classic and timeless combination. […] Yet combining the two in creative and inventive ways is a new phenomenon, according to [Nicolas] Soenen. It has come about in the past five years with the advent of a handful of zythology courses launched in Belgium that are designed to create "beer sommeliers".

Don't worry if the word "zythological" is unfamiliar, though. It's a made up word. "It just means being crazy about beer," said [Michael] DiFabio, 38, adding that the word is a takeoff from zythos, a blend of hops, and zythology, the study of beer and beer making.

From Acarology to Zythology, all of science is developing digital artifacts for use in research; all are branching into the realm of design science research; all are becoming, at least partly, sciences of the artificial.

The world-class brewery, based in Quebec, Canada, has been delighting zythology enthusiasts since 1992.
