Guangzhou marked the real beginning of our visit. From there we journeyed to thirteen other cities: Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xian, Yenan, Shi-jia-zhuang, Peking, Tangshan, Shenyang, Anshan, Tianjin, Changsha, and Shaoshan.*[…] It was late April when we visited the Zhao Ling Pu Commune, just north of Shi-jia-zhuang, Hebei Province.
