At Sunwui, Kwangtung Province, near Hong Kong, fruits were observed which very closely resembled one strain of the Valencia as grown in California, and fruits were collected as specimens for identification in Washington.

As a little girl, whenever I bowed to my ancestors in our ancestral hall in the Big House, I was fascinated by the plaque on the altar that related the origin of our family I had thought that my family came from Hong Kong, but in fact we came from Honan province in north China.
