The X2 option continued up until June 1967 when it became the 186S. The two engines had the same output, however the 186S had a single two-barrel carby as opposed to two single barrels. The 186S was also fitted with Holden's first automatic choke. For $85 you could have this dynamic power plant hooked up to an Opel all-synchro four-speed floor shift. This was about the same time that Holden started fitting seatbelts and reversing lights as standard equipment.
