From Latin chrysoberyllus, from Ancient Greek χρῡσοβήρυλλος (khrūsobḗrullos, “gold beryl”), from χρυσός (khrusós, “gold”) after its color, and βήρυλλος (bḗrullos, “beryl”), equivalent to chryso- + beryl.
