From Latin fluviātiō, from fluviātus (“fluviated”) + -iō (“-tion: forming abstract nouns”), from fluvius (“river”) + -ātus (“-ate: forming adjectives”) as if from a verb fluviō. Equivalent to fluviated + -ion.
