Albert Camus (or Albir Kamu) was a French humanist writer and one of the men of literature who made their mark in the 20th century. He was the ninth Frenchman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, and this was in the year 1957. He died when he was 46 years old following a car accident.

Camus was born on the 7th of November in the year 1913, in Mondovi, in French Algeria.

During the Second World War, Camus will join the Resistance against the occupation. In the year 1942, he will publish his novel: The Stranger, which brought him success.

Although his life was short, Albert Camus left behind several books.
