Chappy

The application was followed at once by terrible pain in the wound; furthermore, there appeared a dry and chappy tongue, intolerable thirst, colics, cramplike contractions of the legs and back, and a weak and irregular pulse.

But reality is change, so new houses and people were appearing on Chappy as on the rest of the Vineyard, and they would continue to appear; the old days were gone with the wind, like the antebellum South.

A more recent second breach has created an additional tiny island between the Vineyard and Chappy, further separating us and increasing the tenderness of the southern shore.

Because it's the only method of transportation between the two islands and a surprising number of people live on Chappy year-round, the ferry runs daily.
