Comal

A freshly ground masa tortilla, as it cooks on a comal, inflates as the steam inside pushes apart the sides and releases an intoxicating toasted corn aroma.

Mr. Lindsey's letter in Vol. 5, No. 11 made some misleading claims for COMAL. He stated that COMAL, like BASIC, is free. Well, back in October of 1981, a price of $49.95 for a COMAL starter package was mentioned in Robert Baker's PET-pourri column in Microcomputing.
