Consequent conduct is specified.

Whatsoever therefore is consequent to a time of Warre, where every man is Enemy to every man; the same is consequent to the time, wherein men live without other security, than what their own strength, and their own invention shall furnish them withall. The Standard commented upon the fact that lawless outrages of the sort usually occurred under a Liberal Administration. They arose from the unsettling of the minds of the masses, and the consequent weakening of all authority.

Affirming the consequent is an example of a formal logical fallacy.

He knew the inebriating sweetness of popular applause, and the bitter revulsions consequent on its change into public disfavor and censure.
