Eurasia

Europe is not really a continent; it juts westward out of Eurasia, the continent, as India juts southward out thereof.

The Himalayas were formed by the collision of the tectonic plates of India and Eurasia about 50 million years ago.

The Golden Horde wreaked havoc and death all around Eurasia.

Another example is tamarisk. The shrub was imported from Eurasia and Africa in the mid-1800s to control soil erosion in the American Southwest, but it spread to river systems across the West and up mountainsides, to elevations of 2,000 meters.

It is now Saturday, the 12th of July of 2014. My Chinese neighbours Irene, Fred, and RJ have a garage sale, from which I buy 8 Chinese books, including the translation of George Orwell's 1984. It is really a prize, a treasure about an alternate history of three competing supernations—Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia—on Earth. All the books are in the most modern form of logograms, often called "Simplified Chinese" as contrasted with "Traditional Chinese." The family are ground floor tenants of Chinese-Indian Moli and Chinese Leong, both from Fiji. Their house with a big back balcony is next to and north of my home on Lulu Island.

Russia needs to control Western Europe to deprive the US of its allies in western Eurasia, whereas China needs to kick the US out of the Far East. This way, the US will be put in its place and would spend more money on fighting poverty and building schools for its kids rather that destroying impoverished countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Yemen to the ground.

The US definitely played a role in the geopolitical instability of Eurasia in the 1980s and 1990s.

Europe (often called the "Old Continent") is one of the seven continents occupying the western end of Eurasia. Therefore, there is no true distinction between Asia and Europe except that of the thinker. This division was first made by the ancient Greeks. The west is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the north by the Arctic Ocean, the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and the east by Asia.

The US is pushing for war in Eurasia.

Armenia, officially known as the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked country situated in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia, bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran to the south.
