Farmhouses have barns.

They will lodge by twos and threes in lonely farmhouses.

People driving through southern Germany will see farmhouses with solar panels everywhere they look.

There were farmhouses all over the area.

You see, surveys are finding that more than one-third of America's five million farmers and their families live not in the cornfields or next to the dairy barn, but in town! Their farmhouses stand empty and unwatched at night. Or perhaps a caretaker stays there. Or someone who just likes living in the country is renting the place, while the farmer commutes to the fields each morning.

The big, fat Indian wedding is no longer restricted to the rich. As a booming economy has put more money into the hands of the middle class, they too are staging extravagant, multi-day celebrations at five star hotels and farmhouses.
