Fondest

What an unfailing barrier against vice, immorality and bad habits are those tastes which lead us to embellish a home, to which at all times and in all places we turn with delight, as being the object and the scene of our fondest cares, labours and enjoyments; whose humble roof, whose shady porch, whose verdant lawn and smiling flowers all breathe forth to us, in true, earnest tones, a domestic feeling that at once purifies the heart and binds us more closely to our fellow beings.

"Yes, you are the dearest one to me," said the prince, "for you have the best heart of them all, and you are fondest of me."

This is my fondest wish.

Then, when he was of suitable age, he was the fondest of hunting and, more than that, the fondest of incurring danger in his pursuit of wild animals.

Among my fondest memories of being a kid back in the 1960’s was taking a week or so of summer vacation to visit relatives at my grandfather’s farm in Herman, PA (about 65 km northeast of Pittsburgh).
