For centuries, it was thought that Venus could not be habitable without terraforming.

All houses are supposed to be habitable.

European scientists have discovered a potentially habitable planet orbiting Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system.

Kepler uncovered several planets that are about the same size as Earth and orbit within the star's habitable zone, where liquid water, which is necessary for life, can exist.

For any star, it's possible to calculate the range of distances where orbiting planets could have liquid water on the surface. This is called the star's habitable zone.

Although Europa is thought to have the ingredients needed to support life—water, energy, organic compounds—it lies outside of our solar system's habitable zone.

And the children of Israel ate manna forty years, till they came to a habitable land: with this meat were they fed, until they reached the borders of the land of Canaan.

"Finding water in a potentially habitable world other than Earth is incredibly exciting," said Angelos Tsiaras, lead author of the UCL report that was published in the journal Nature Astronomy.
