Huntress

The huntress followed it into the woods.

"Ho, Sirs!" she hails them, "saw ye here astray / ought of my sisters, girt in huntress wise / with quiver and a spotted lynx-skin gay, / or following on the foaming boar with cries?"

The horse of the fair huntress showed symptoms of impatience and restiveness.

She lets her light bow hang from her shoulder, like a huntress, allowing her hair to float freely in the wind; her long robe is gathered up with a ribbon, leaving her knees bare.

In those same woods ye well remember may / How that a noble hunteress did wonne [...].

Ashol-Pan, the daughter of a particularly celebrated hunter, may well be the country's only apprentice huntress.

Grief and fear cannot rule you; let them be your faithful servants, protective of their mistress. Loss serves a huntress like fuel serves fire.
