Longnesses

The scale #92;sigma measures longness in units of length. Its ordinality guarantees that objects with greater longnesses are assigned more unites of length when measured.

Contrarily the iamb's weak element (= the iamb's Senkung) mostly is free in being either 1 or 2 m.u. long, which longnesses may be effected by *v* (1 m.u.), *vv* (2 m.u.), or *-* (2 m.u.)
