Macedoine

1937, P. G. Wodehouse, 'Lord Emsworth and Others', Overlook, Woodstock: 2002, pp 112-113. It was as if a shell had burst in my immediate neighbourhood... A gaping chasm opened in the hillside. The air became full of a sort of macedoine of grass, dirt, flowers and beetles.
