Mingled

Joy was mingled with sorrow.

He had a look that mingled fright with surprise.

She had never mingled in the society of women.

Never do we taste perfect joy: our happiest successes are mingled with sadness.

Everywhere there were mingled the luxury of the wealthy man of taste and the careless untidiness of the bachelor.
