Modernistic

Sixteen years in the making, a concert hall that will be the new home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic was inaugurated Monday. The modernistic building, designed by architect Frank Gehry, was heralded by dignitaries as a city landmark.

The modernistic architecture was both ugly and unfunctional, in spite of its futuristic appearance.

The buildings now being demolished are said to date back to the opening of the Trent Valley line in 1846. They will be replaced by modernistic structures, including a fully mechanised booking office, which will be concentrated mainly on the Low Level down platforms, [...].
