Nonheteronormative

Even though the Asari’s appearance fits into conventional ideas of what is attractive and sexually engaging, the underlying design of the Asari is a “point of convergence” from that which is nonheteronormative. As a species of all “females,” their society has no dichotomies based on sex, with every individual moving through the three stages of Maiden, Matron, and Matriarch, regardless of which career path and lifestyle choices she makes.
