Overprotectiveness

Among the reactions with which the child must learn to cope are overprotectiveness, overpermissiveness, anger or embarrassment, and rejection by society.

I also later learned that my friend had selectively sent me only part of what he had obtained from Mr. Berkeley's files, deciding not to share with me other writings which were more "kinky" or "obscene." Whether this was overprotectiveness and "male chauvinism" towards me, or a need to protect his identity with the gay world, on the part of my friend, I will not commence to judge.
