Similar partitioning of microbial food resources was observed for multiple polychaete species within the family Dorvilleidae in methane seep sediments off OR and CA [79 ], and for lepetopsid and lepetodrilid limpets at hydrothermal vents on the east Pacific Rise [80 ].

Our holistic study of these modern-day traces suggests it to be a complex trace arising from domichnial, fodinichnial and possibly pascichnial behavior of polychaetes.
