now that i have successfully propagated some nice little rosies using your method, and have begun potting them, my questions turn to getting them through the winter.

Radio collar stuff? My best dog devices are the pruned canes laid on the ground where I don't want them to run. Stopped them from running down the little rosies until I laid the mulch on top of them by mistake. Then the dogs ran down the little rosies.
